Assistant Coach

Dean Steffey

Coach Steffey, grew up in the East Valley, played at Mesa Westwood for the legendary Tom Bennett, and competed against the Tempe Buffaloes, coached by Sam Duane Sr. Coach Steffey successfully coached numerous junior teams, and was invited by Tom Bennett to join the Gilbert High men's basketball staff in 1998. He worked there for 7 seasons, and was a member of the staff that guided Gilbert to the 5A State Championship in 2003. This year will be Coach Steffey's third year as an assistant coach with the Aztecs basketball team.

Scott Cole

Coach Cole has returned to the Corona coaching staff after last participating in the 2005-2006 season.  He graduated from Corona in 2000, where he played basketball for four years.  He went on to play basketball at Central Arizona College and later graduated from ASU where he studied business and biology.
Coach Cole is married to another former Aztec, Lisa Kempton.  They have two children, Rylee who is 3 and Tyse who is 1.
